Drug Testing

Uncategorized September 27th, 2007

I don’t think that schools should do drug testing.  It probably won’t help anything.  It might even make things worse because if they do test kids that do activities, those people are more likely to drop out of whatever activity theyre doing than to stop taking the drugs, since drugs are really addictive.

What would you do if you werent afraid?

Uncategorized September 27th, 2007

If I wasnt afraid, I would probably do a lot more than I do now.  I would probably go sky diving  or something else that a lot of people wouldn’t do.  I also wouldn’t care what people said or thought, and I would just say what’s on my mind.  I would do a lot more braver things.  Another thing that I would do is go in elevators because I hate them and I’m afraid of them braking down, so I take the stairs most of the time.  I would also go bungee jumping or go on the biggest roller coaster in the world, because I wouldn’t be afraid.  If I wasn’t afraid, then I would probably be living more on the edge and doing things that alot of people would never do.

One Web Day

My mom said that when there were no computers,  she used to spend more time outside, on the phone, or doing other things.  She also said that she use to either write on paper  or use a typewriter instead of computers to type anything she needed to.  She said it was harder to research without computers.  It was easier to focus on one thing at a time because there were no computers to distract you.  My mom said that the computer has made life easier because it saves time and money because she shops and pays bills online.

My dad said he used to go outside more and play a lot of sports when there were no computers.  He also told me that that work was harder without computers because he works on his computer a lot.  Spending time with family was easier without the computer because a lot of people spend a lot of time on the computer instead of doing other things.  It has affected the way he lives and works because now that there are computers, he can work at home and his work is easier.

My aunt said that she did a lot more writing, mailing letters, and talking on the phone when she didn’t have a computer.  Communication was harder without a computer because a lot of people use computers to talk on.  She also had to go to the library more because there was no other way to do research.  She thinks that people cared more about spelling and grammer than they do now because with computers, people just depend on spell check.  It has made life easier for her because computers are more efficient, it is a better use of time, and there is more information to learn on the computer.

The most important Amendment in the Bill of Rights

Uncategorized September 18th, 2007

I consider the First Amendment to be the most important in the Bill of Rights because I think that everyone should have the right to freedom.  I also think that everyone should be able to chose the religion they want to have and shouldn’t have to be forced to worship a religion that they don’t believe in.  Having the freedom of speech is important also because it lets you have an opinion about anything.  You shouldn’t get in trouble for saying what you think about something.   The freedom of assembly is also important.  Last, the freedom of petition is also good because if someone isn’t happy with their government or if they think something is unfair, then they have the right to say something about it without having to worry about getting in trouble.
