I read a blog about the history of hip hop and how it became popular. I found it by searching for hiphop blogs. I thought i was very interesting because it told the history of how hip hop was originated and it tells why it was invented. I learned that 75% of people who listen to hip hop are nonblack. I also learned that hip hop has unified idividuals across the world, no matter what skin color they are. Hiphop and rap are the fastest growing music genre in the U.S. Rap and hiphop are also replacing rock and roll. Rap and hip hop are made to tell stories of urban streets. Its how young blacks express themselves. Street language is also transmitted to the hip hop culture through rap music. it has become a pidgen language.
Quote: “ The “hip hop culture” has permeated popular culture in an unprecedented fashion. Because of its enormous cross-over appeal, the hip hop culture is a potentially great unifier of diverse populations. Although created by black youth on the street, hip hop’s influence has become worldwide. Approximately 75% of the rap and hip hop audience is nonblack. It has gone from the fringes, to the suburbs, and into the corporate boardrooms. ”
This quote is important because it tells how hip hop has become popular and how all different races listen to it. It has influenced many people’s lives.
My comment said “I think this blog is very interesting and it’s also very true. Hip hop and rap have become really popular.”
