Im excited to leave middle school and also glad to be getting more freedom. Im kind of worried about getting lost, because its a new school and everything, but ill get used to it. I just really hope I’ll like the change. I also want to get good grades throughout highschool so I can go to a good college and get a good job when I’m older. What happens in highschool determines our future, so I have to make sure its what I want.

We don’t have school on Monday to honor Martin Luther King Jr’s legacy that affected the world. It is a day where people are supposed to come together no matter what color or race they are. He was the one that gave hope to the black and poor people. Schools close because they want to give kids a chance to realize how important Martin Luther King Jr. was. He was the reason our world changed.
I don’t think we should have school on that day because not going to school makes people realize how important he really was.p>

I predict that Hillary Clinton will win the election because she has good plans for the future of America. As president, she plans to strengthen the middle class, provide better and more affordable health care, end the war in Iraq, fight global warming, promote energy independence, strengthen our democracy, reform the immigration system, and restore America’s standing in the world. Many people agree with her plans for change and want her to be elected as our president. If she gets elected, she will help our country change, and fufill many people’s dreams of a better America. Hillary is probably the best choice for president because she knows the main things in our country that need to be fixed, and she plans to do something about them.

One of the people that has influenced my life the most would probably be my grandpa, even though he might not know it. He’s only 65, so he still thinks hes young. He’s mostly always happy when I see him and he usually has something funny to say. He has taught me that life is too short, so you can’t have regrets. You have to do what you want to do and what you think is right. If he wants something, then he makes it happen for himself. He doesn’t let anyone stand in his way. He’s also given me a lot of good advice. He’s one of the reasons I love music. He’s loved music his whole life, and he’s always listening to it, like me. For example, since he loves music so much, he found a way to meet one of his favorite singers. He doesn’t wait for life to pass him by. He recently found out that he has an aneurysm in part of his heart, and we don’t really know what’s going to happen. He might have to have surgery, which could be dangerous. That just shows that you never know what will happen, so you can’t take life for granted, like he hasn’t done and like he’s taught me not to do. I just really hope he’ll be ok.

I wonder about a lot. I wonder what I’ll be when I get older. I’m not really sure about what I want to be yet, but I hope ill be succesful at what I do. I also wonder what the future will be like, what will change in the world, and what will stay the same. I wonder if there will really be flying cars, or if there will be a big change for the future like everyone predicts. I wonder about life itself, but I don’t think anyone will ever really understand it completely. I also wonder what I’ll be doing 20 years from now, and what my life will be like. Last, I wonder why life goes by faster than it should. Some people don’t really get to finish what they wanted to in life, or accomplish their dreams because their lives end too soon. I don’t think thats very fair, so hopefully it will change.

This is the comment I left on the Discourse about Discourse blog:

I think learning online is a good idea. It’s alot better than having to get up everyday and go to school when your tired, and students can get a different experience from learning online. It would save a lot of time. Also, people might think working online is more fun than sitting in a classroom. Even though this is a really good idea, there are some things that go on in class that can’t be done online. Students and teachers wouldn’t be able to interact with eachother, and they wouldn’t really be a class anymore. Also, there wouldn’t be able to be any class discoussions, which help a lot of students. Teachers and students would have a different realtionship, and some students might not like the idea of that. The class would be dissconnected from eachother. It would also be hard to ask questions and get them answered if you always worked online.

She worked for some design houses in New York, and then opened her own shop in 1942. She designed and made 11 different dresses, and her brother showed them to some of the boutiques in the country. They were impressed with her designes, so a number of stores purchased them. By the 1950s, Pauline Trigère’s name was part of Hollywood fashion. Trigère designs had some of the highest prices because they were often made with expensive materials such as real gold or gemstones. She continued to design clothes for 30 more years and is known for creating the first reversible coat and sleeveless coats. her signature design is a turtle, and can be found on a lot of her designs. She died in 2002, but she is still remembered for her fashion.

My email said- I was just wondering if you are going to put a Coach Store in the Westfield Mall because it would be a lot more convenient for people to go there instead of the Westfarms mall. The closest store i know of is at the Westfarms mall. I suggest that you should put one in the Westfield Mall.

I read a blog about the history of hip hop and how it became popular. I found it by searching for hiphop blogs. I thought i was very interesting because it told the history of how hip hop was originated and it tells why it was invented. I learned that 75% of people who listen to hip hop are nonblack. I also learned that hip hop has unified idividuals across the world, no matter what skin color they are. Hiphop and rap are the fastest growing music genre in the U.S. Rap and hiphop are also replacing rock and roll. Rap and hip hop are made to tell stories of urban streets. Its how young blacks express themselves. Street language is also transmitted to the hip hop culture through rap music. it has become a pidgen language.

Quote: “ The “hip hop culture” has permeated popular culture in an unprecedented fashion. Because of its enormous cross-over appeal, the hip hop culture is a potentially great unifier of diverse populations. Although created by black youth on the street, hip hop’s influence has become worldwide. Approximately 75% of the rap and hip hop audience is nonblack. It has gone from the fringes, to the suburbs, and into the corporate boardrooms. ”

This quote is important because it tells how hip hop has become popular and how all different races listen to it. It has influenced many people’s lives.

My comment said “I think this blog is very interesting and it’s also very true. Hip hop and rap have become really popular.”
